Remembering 9/11

This morning I woke up to a text message from my daughter Allison that said, "Just wanted to tell you I love you.  I got emotional listening to the radio because today is 9/11."Yes, today is 9/11, a huge reminder of one of the only attacks that took place on American soil.  Sometimes, we Americans are not very good at remembering the past, or those who have served and made the ultimate sacrifice.  But I do remember the chilling words that almost resemble my daughter's words from a survivor of 9/11, whose only response was: "Go home and hug your wife and tell your family that you love them."  It's fairly common in most marriages that have endured the test of time that there are a lot of things we take for granted, including the people we have lived with, been close to, and are a big part of our lives. It shouldn't take two enormous towers to fall to the ground to remind us of that, but perhaps it does.My advice is to do what my daughter did for me and tell the people in your life you love them.MEH
