Wipe the Slate Clean
I recently saw this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt: "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." It reminds me of Pope Francis who, at nearly 80 years of age, is trying to reform the monolithic Catholic church. There is something about an old geezer who keeps on doing and believing in what he thinks is right, paying no attention to having 80 years under his papal belt.Every day is a new opportunity, but the world tries to tell us to think in terms of years. This year offers a new beginning, a second chance, and a fresh start for you to accomplish things in your life. I don't know what that may mean for you, but for me, I am setting my goals high for a very ambitious year. It is my hope to have a year that will challenge me to learn new things, grow in different directions, and find more opportunities to serve my Lord, my church, my family and my friends. Don't shrink from wiping the slate clean and starting again. You might want to start the new year by forgiving those who have hurt you or just forgiving yourself. You might want to change your attitude and revisit yourself, taking a long look at what needs improvement.I only know I don't want to waste a minute when it comes to 2017. Happy New Year!MEH
