Music is an integral part of the religious life of St. John’s. The Music Ministry encourages the Church body to engage in active participation of Worship through, “Singing and making music in their heart to God with anthems, hymns and spiritual songs” (Ephesians 5:19).
Our adult and children choirs meet regularly and sing at services throughout the year. Our hand bell choir performs during services and in the community. The joyful music is an inspiring addition to worship and celebration.
The adult choir meets at 9:00 AM Sunday mornings to rehearse before the service. New choir members are welcome from within the congregation and the larger metropolitan community.
The Hand bell Choir at St. John’s has been ringing since 1998. In addition to providing music in Sunday worship services throughout the year, they have also appeared in Sunday Night Live at the Mamaroneck United Methodist Church, concerts with Trinity Lutheran Church in White Plains, holiday concerts at the Women’s Club of Mamaroneck, The Harbor Festival on Mamaroneck Avenue with the Seventh Day Adventist Church, the Hudson Valley Hand bell Festival Conference, and a Food Pantry Benefit concert at St. John’s.
Additionally, instrumentalists for Sunday morning worship are being sought and are very welcome. If you play any instrument (woodwind, strings, brass, percussion, or kazoo), please contact the office or the Music Director, Katarzyna Kluczykowska-Moeckel.
